Speaking Engagements

South by Southwest®

Janice Overbeck served as a panel moderator and speaker at SXSW, one of the largest and most influential festivals in the world—a major milestone in her career, driven by her upcoming TV series with Rob Riggle on climate solutions.

Her participation at the event not only highlighted her expertise in environmental advocacy but also provided a platform to discuss innovative approaches to achieving net-zero emissions. Engaging with industry leaders, scientists, and policymakers, she underscored the urgency of tackling climate change while showcasing the groundbreaking technologies featured in the series.

During the event, she attended insightful sessions, connected with inspiring individuals, and was invited to exclusive gatherings. A standout moment of the trip was having dinner with Dr. Ralph Keeling, son of Dr. Charles Keeling—one of the pioneers of modern climate science. Dr. Charles Keeling’s groundbreaking work in measuring atmospheric CO₂ led to the creation of the Keeling Curve, providing the first clear evidence of rising carbon dioxide levels due to human activity. His research laid the foundation for understanding global warming and climate change.
